Precious Memories by Kate + Maliya + ZozoBugBaby = PERFECTION!

Now, I have to say that I am approached by many photographers every month to shoot my line. I KNOW that sounds totally "uppity", and those of you that know me personally know that I am the COMPLETE opposite of "uppity". Because I am so stretched thin right now with orders, I HAVE to limit the amount of samples I send out and photographers I take on. I have formed a GREAT group of photographers that I love to work with on a regular basis. Having said that, when Kate Callahan of Precious Memories by Kate approached me about shooting my line, I literally made an outfit THAT DAY for her model. I was completely blown away by her photography. I HAD to work with her. HAD TO.

In looking at her blog, I discovered a most INCREDIBLE model.........little Maliya. OH Maliya. She just EXUDED personality in Kate's images. TO DIE FOR. I stopped what I was doing and had a clear vision of what to create for little Maliya. It was done within the hour. Ok...no more fanfare. Take a look at these stunning images. My California trip to meet Pascale Wowak!

So, I'm FINALLY getting around to posting some images I took during my trip to California to meet the fabulous photographer (and my twin), Pascale Wowak. Surely...you have seen the many, many images she has taken for ZozoBugBaby, all with her adorable daugher, Ellie. The child IS ZozoBugBaby...no doubt.
Well...I went to CA to learn a bit of photography and Photoshop. In turn, I taught Pascale a bit of sewing. I assure you..I got the better end of the deal! I still owe her hours of sewing tutorials that she'll take me up on in August, when she comes to Portland!

Anyway, I brought some gifts for her stunning kids (Gavin...the to-die-for child modeling my red star applique shirt), so I had to take some pics. Now...I edited these tonight...all by myself! I am a TAD addicted to the "burn" tool. I studied photography in college and learned to do all of this in a darkroom, so doing in on a computer is new to me...and WAY easier!

Pascale taught me a TON, and although I got a bit happy with that "burn" tool...hopefully the rest of what she taught me stuck! hahah!!! Ellie is wearing a patchwork skirt I made for her, along with an amazing leotard custom made for her by none other than Courtney Chu of courtneycourtney. A great combo, if you ask me!

Ok..I'll quit rambling..here are some photos. I had the BEST time on that trip. I'm coming back, Pascale! I am!

Heidi Walker Designs!

It's time to give a shout out to my friend and customer, Heidi Walker. She's new to Etsy and makes FABULOUS arm warmers for kids and women. I own a pair and cannot say enough good things about them. Before meeting Heidi, I purchased some jersey knit armwarmers and wasn't too happy with them. They seemed to slide down my arms every 2 minutes. Heidi's stay up! They are a comfy knit that really hug your arms.

I am one of those people who is cold ALL the time. I love all of my cool short-sleeved tshirts, but freeze to death in the winter unless I wear a shirt underneath. Now, I just wear Heidi's armwarmers. Seriously...LOVE them. :) In addition to the photos posted here, her armwarmers make an appearance in a few of MY Etsy listings! :) Check her out here.

Lemon Lollipop!

I recently discovered another really wonderful Etsy shop...Lemon Lollipop! I ordered a few samples and fell in love with the "Pink Vanilla" scent. Now, I really don't ever wear perfume oil, but I will now!!!!! I just purchased perfume oil in the "Vanilla Sandalwood" scent. TO DIE FOR! I can't stop smelling myself! HA!

I also had a luxurious shower with the Strawberry Rhubarb sugar scrub and the oh-so-yummy body frosting for dessert! :) Seriously...I am officially addicted to Lemon Lollipop. I even got a free lip balm in my last order!!!! It's so rare that I buy anything for myself, but...I'm going to do it more! It's so much fun!!

A post about ME!

I cannot believe I'm about to do this, but...this is a post about ME. Anyone who knows me knows that I do NOT like to be photographed and certainly don't go running around saying "Look at me! Look at me"!. Having said that, I just returned from a short little trip from California, where my gracious hostess, friend and photographer EXTRAORDINAIRE, Pascale Wowak, took some not-too-shabby photos of me! I, in turn, took some photos of her with her children, which I"ll post later. People online always wonder what I look like, so...here ya go! It's ME! I'm so glad Photoshop exists! :) THanks, Pascale!!!!
